Dear Yuletide Writer

Hello there! Nice to meet you! Thank you for clicking on the link that brought you here. I've never done Yuletide before, so please forgive me if this letter is a bit awkward.

My name on AO3 is the same as here: nursinggeek. Thank you to @isis for suggesting I include my fandoms et al. That seems like a good way to keep things tidy, so here they are:

The Lady Astronaut Series - Mary Robinette Kowal
Elma York, Helen Liu, Myrtle Lindholm, Nicole Wargin

October Daye Series - Seanan McGuire
Dianda Lorden (October Daye), Patrick Lorden (October Daye), Simon Torquill (October Daye)

Glamourist Histories Series - Mary Robinette Kowal
Any (Worldbuilding (Glamourist Histories))

Bridgewater (Podcast)
Jeremy Bradshaw, Vipin Khurana, Anne Becker (Bridgewater)

The Murderbot Diaries - Martha Wells
Asshole Research Transport (Murderbot Diaries), Murderbot (Murderbot Diaries)

Princess Bride (1987)
Inigo Montoya (Princess Bride 1987), Fezzik (Princess Bride 1987)

Somehow, I managed to delete my original letter while editing that in. So let me try to recapture it ...

What might you like to know about me as a reader? I love gen, het, and slash/femslash. Mostly, I love a good story. I am generally one for hopeful-if-not-happy endings. Hurt/comfort and domestic fluff are my jam. I'm generally more interested in canon-compliant or canon-adjacent fic, but now that has me wondering about what a Jane/Vincent modern coffee shop AU would look like ...

My DNWs are essentially the major archive warnings, plus anything that smacks of incest. (To use a non-Yuletide fandom example, I can't cope with Buffy/Giles because that relationship is just too parental in canon.) Infidelity is also a pretty big turnoff, though polyamory (especially canon polycules, such as Diana/Patrick/Simon) is wonderful.
If you decide to go explicit, which is fine but by no means necessary, I'll just say that I'm pretty vanilla. That's not 100% accurate, but easier than getting into the weeds of specific kinks and squicks.

I'm sure I'm going to love whatever you write, and I'm looking forward to reading it!

For my next trick

Let's see if non-fandom me can manage to pull together a thing or two for Femslash February. Again, mostly aiming for book fandoms that don't currently have a tag on AO3. Of course, I'll be as pleased to discover I'm wrong about any of them not already having tags as I was about the Lady Astronaut verse.

Should I start with something that has a canon femslash pairing? That'd be C.L. Polk's Kingston Cycle series coming to mind. ::pops over to AO3 to check:: Nope! I'm pleased to say there are already 9 works. That may still be my starting point, just because the books are recent reads. Besides, all of the fics are male pairings. I mean, I get it. Tristan/Miles as a ship manages to hit some extremely compelling notes. Grace Hensley and Avia Jessup, however, are also pretty darn compelling, imo. Now to come up with something for them ...

There are some Femslash February prompt lists floating about. There's this one from the official Tumblr blog, but single-word prompts aren't clicking atm. Maybe I'll try combining them with a Tarot draw. Possibly even use Cecilia Tan's "two paths in a wood" spread, which I do very much enjoy.

February's not exactly a quiet month, so 28 works ... not so much. But hopefully a couple.

13 months after my first post

I've finally posted an AdventDrabble to AO3. It probably would be a good idea to post it here, too.

Title: Home for Christmas
Fandom: The Lady Astronaut Series: The Relentless Moon
Ship: Nicole Wargin/Kenneth Wargin
Rating: G
Prompt:
Woman hugging dog pet
Warnings: Spoilers through the end of The Relentless Moon
Summary: This isn't what Nicole had imagined her first Christmas back on Earth would be like. As with anything, though, she'll make it work.
Word Count: 341
Author Note: Huge thanks to my anonymous beta for finding a canon timeline issue I needed to address. I did not put it through for a re-check, though, so any inconsistency is entirely my fault.

So, I've decided to do this apparently

Creating an account so I can play in AdventDrabbles and (hopefully) Fandom Stocking under this handle rather than (or possibly as well as) my fannish one.

If you happen to be someone who knows me under both handles, please don't connect the dots publicly. It's not that difficult to do, tbh, but I'd prefer to keep some kind of separation between the two.
